Welcome to the blog of Sir Dave where you can find news, appointment availability, new purchases, new ideas and just my thoughts on life work and the world. Oh and maybe the odd photo or collection of photo's I like.

Stretch Dildos Review

17th September 2020

Quite a while ago I was in the Prowler Soho store in London and bought a good sized bright red dildo, with the intention of one day completing the set if I liked it.

View the video to accompany this post.

I loved it and wanted to get the rest but … they stopped selling them! Now I must make a shout out to the ProwlerRED team on twitter when I asked if they have them instore and not online replied saying they didn’t sell them any longer.

But did tell me the name of the company that make them instead of trying to persuade me to buy one of their others.

And so I introduce you to the Stretch range of dildo’s and ass toys. But before I talk about them it is important to realise that not all sex toys are made equal. In fact they can be made from lots of things – wood and glass for example, and then the two most common are latex and vinyl (or plastic type products).

In recent years you will have seen talk about Silicone toys coming more popular. SquarePeg I believe launched the first range of silicone toys back in 2006! OxBalls I also remember as one of the early companies to offer silicone toys … but I don’t know when they started.

In recent years other names for big toys like Mr Hanky’s have come along and other established brands such as Crackstuffers have introduced silicone toys.

But, Why?

Simply put – silicone is safer. It’s non-porous – so it won’t absorb chemicals that it comes into contact with. Everything stays on the surface which means you can wash and sanitise them easily. And that safety is one of the most important benefits!

Other common materials like Latex have tiny pores that can trap bacteria, viruses and STD’s. Which is really an issue when playing with bigger toys that you can’t fit a condom or other barrier over. You can use water or oil based lubes with silicone toys, latex toys can of course be broken down by oil based products.

And they are odourless and tasteless. Actually, odour is a good topic here too as a quick aside.

Have you ever had a toy that has quite a strong plasticy smell? Or do any of your toys ‘sweat’ or get oily or greasy all by themselves? If so I would suggest you go and grab that toy and throw it out!

They aren’t some fancy self-lubricating toys … it’s actually the chemical degradation. And there is a strong possibility that the chemicals causing the smell or sweat are phthalates that are used to soften plastics.

Those chemicals are dangerous! They can cause irritation, rashes, blisters or a whole lot worse, just google them! So please check what your toys are made from and take appropriate steps – I’ve thrown out a load of my own collection already.

Some people say that Silicone Lubes can damage silicone toys, i’ve seen no evidence of this. But SquarePeg do point out on their website dissolving can occur when they come into contact with vinyl toys. Which is where the initial rumour may have started.

Ok, so moving back to toys

Most of my dildos come from three British companies … Babes n Horny, Godemiche and Sky Hi Mail Order.

Whatever your experience, I have something to fit everyone, and will of course be adding more. The red dildos are part of the “Stretch” range, there are seven in the main collection and here you can see sizes 1 through 6.

Let’s start with Riker … or for non star trek nerds Number 1. This is about 15cm long with a width of 4cm. It’s a really nice size to work up to when starting out! A good toy to us to get used to an average cock fucking you.

They are all circumcised or foreskin pulled back depending on how you want to think about it.

This gives a nice head with a little bump to ride on the way in or further inside. Then the body is veiny for some texture and then some balls to make sure you can work it balls deep!

And they all have a suction base, and it really holds well! Particularly useful if you want to ride at home alone. If you have a smooth or tiled wall or floor stick it down and fuck yourself silly!

Silicone also has a nice feel about it, the temperature too. If you use a metal or glass toy for example it will feel cold when you first use it.

Two tips when shopping for toys. If you want to compare how a toys temperature will feel when inside just place them on the inside of your arm.

You’ll get the initial feel and then how long it will take to warm up to body temperature. And if looking at a vibrator in a store use the tip if your nose to feel how powerful it is.

So I said I have Stretch 1 through 6, this is the 6 and clearly for experienced and practiced holes. It’s 31cm in length and 7cm wide! As you can see more than just a handful!

In the coming months for you greedy boys and fist pigs I will be getting the Stretch 7, 5X and 5 Double X! The 5 Double X has a circumference of 28cm and is 9 cm across!!

Silicone toys can be made in a variety of firmness, if you look at toys from companies like Weredog for example you can choose the soft medium or firm toys. The Stretch range I would put as firm, they are very firm but you can squeeze them and they flex – they aren’t solid!

In the Stretch range there are some other options too, such as the Stretch Hole. It is a hollow plug – shaped with a taper for easy insertion, some bulges and base to keep it firmly held in pace and to keep your hole open.

Again like the stretch dildos made from premium silicone! The hole A is 11cm in length with a max width of 5cm The largest available is 16cm long and 8cm wide for a great stretch and gape! If you are familiar with the OxBalls pig hole these are firmer, the pig holes can collapse when using them.

And finally there is one question everyone has about toys … price. The entire range I think is excellent value for money. The Stretch 1 is just £13.85 and the Stretch 6 is £31.20 with the most expensive being the 5 Double X at £46.20!

So if you are interested in any of the Stretch toys and range you can find them on their website skyhi.me.uk. You can also find the amazing K-Lube range of lubes! It is nice to see them back on the market, and they offer free postage on orders over £35!

KinksterApp – Should you sign up?

1st September 2019

You may have heard about a new boy on the block … Kinkster App. Lots of people are getting excited about it, me for one. And lots of people are asking why do we need yet another bloody hook up app when we have Recon, Grindr, Scruff, FetLife, Twitter, Growlr, Grommr, Gaydar (is that still a thing?) and plenty other less well known or used sites.

I thought rather then just sharing my signup code I’d help explain why Kinkster is different, why it is needed and why you need to sign up.

For the benefit of the community

One of the biggest differences between Kinkster and pretty much all the other apps is profit.

The team being Kinkster have setup the company as a Community Interest Company and not the traditional Limited company most businesses use. A CIC has to be run as a community or social enterprise – the profits are for the community or to be put back into the organisation to help build it and develop it. Not for the profit or benefit of the shareholders.

So the focus isn’t on becoming rich – it isn’t on making money, by law it has to be on (in this case) connecting a community together and helping that community meet and support each other.

It isn’t actually an app

The name is Kinkster.App – it’s an app to meet like minded guys, girls and those yet to decide. And to build social connections, to chat to people, engage in discussion and find events to attend.

But it isn’t an app … you won’t get it from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

It’s a website, a website that does a lot of clever stuff to look and work like an app.

And why is that a good thing?

Take a look at Recon and Scruff – they are getting more and more restricted in what you can show on a photo, Scruff’s latest rules are incredibly restrictive for something based around sex. And that isn’t anything to do with Scruff – that is the choice of Apple. They are getting stricter and stricter with sex related apps and anything hinting at consensual sexual activity. BLUF recently worked tirelessly to get an app approved that was just for event listings. It mentioned fetish so they wouldn’t approve it for distribution via the App store. And if it isn’t on the app store it is practically impossible to your app out to iPhone users.

Recon photos have to be assessed to see if they are App friendly. For android you can get around this by installing an App that hasn’t come via the Play Store, but I do fear it is only a matter of time before Recon disappears from the App stores.

So if it isn’t an app and just a website that means it doesn’t need any corporates approval for you to use it. It just needs to satisfy the laws of the country. And it makes it a lot easier for the developers to roll out fixes, features and updates – because you don’t have to do anything!

And it won’t take up critical storage space on your device.

“But a website only works when online, an app works all the time.” Sure, but if your not online how you going to find shags and chat to people around you? How you going to send a message or read someones feed? Everything about a social connections app needs online access. So an App has no real significant benefit other then making development harder, slower, more expensive for the business behind it while making the stores (ie Apple and Google) money.

It’s not just for kinksters’s

There is a second site called GMeet … if Kinkster is a new Recon, GMeet is a new Grindr. Meet guys who want to fuck, but don’t want all the accessories and dressing up to go with it. And its also for the social side of life – its not just about wanna shag? Both apps are about the social as well as sexual connections we make, sometimes those social also involve gear, sometimes they don’t.

At some point I fully expect Twitter to succumb to the political pressure of being an American Corporate and have to ban any mention of knobs, bums and sex. Unlike tumblr it isn’t predominately porn based, but the business model of traditional advertising companies and sex don’t go together too well.

So GMeet and Kinkster will also have a feed option that you can follow people on, or maybe even a group to meet like minded people. Sounds like twitter, so it offers much more social interaction rather then just messaging,

And the sites lets you manage this through one login – so you don’t need to login to loads of apps. And it also lets you create up to three separate profiles on each site (three on Kinkster and three on GMeet), If you are a big scat perv and know that puts a lot of guys off, create a profile for your pig side and one for your sluttier side maybe and then one for your pup or inner baby. Or for the vanilla site a gaming profile, a cooking one and one for work maybe.

The site also won’t be exclusively gay, LGBT+ or male only. And this has been one of the problems I think sites like FetLife has faced in building its gay membership – a lot of guys don’t want to chat to people they aren’t sexually interested in. So there will be options on either site (Kinkster and GMeet) where you can set who you are visible to in searches etc. You may have a social GMeet profile that is happier to meet quite a wide range of people, but a Kink side that is targeted to only Male or Female partners.

Yes, but do we really need another app?

Probably.

All the existing ones have their failings, some too restrictive in content, some promote themselves and their own events too much, some only allow certain types of people (some sites even filter by are you good looking or rich enough to be a member).

Kinkster and GMeet are hoping to build a broader spectrum of appeal, that isn’t so restricted by corporate approval policies and that is designed to build connections and community. Not just about sex.

Still not sure? I haven’t seen the app myself yet – just seen what they have posted online and had some discussions with the developers. They are very open to suggestions and ideas on how to make it an amazing platform. But they need to launch it slowly, test it, develop it and see what the community wants. So give feedback and ideas, don’t expect it to be included on launch but if it is a good idea you may see it in a future version.

Claim your name

In closing, it will be worth claiming your name now. Your ID is your address online, so grab it before anyone else does. Even if you don’t want to use it you can make sure no one pretends to be you.

The Leatherman NYC

1st October 2018

On my recent stop over in New York there was one place I had to visit. No not Big Gay Ice Cream (well not this time – though I do love their Bea Arthur ice-cream), it was Leatherman NYC.

San Francisco has Mr S, New York has Leatherman! Both amazing stores and absolute must visit for any kinkster or perv visiting the city.

Leatherman stock a variety of products from companies like Square Peg, Hanky Toys, Ox Balls, Wesco and Alpha Industries. But they also make a load of their own products, both bondage and clothing! And their leather clothing is amazing, and there is one thing that makes this store so special to visit. Their sizing!

This is something that I have complained about before about so many fetish companies, here you can buy a variety of sizes in their shirts and jeans / breeches. After spending a small fortune at Langlitz Leathers and Wesco (blog post coming in the next few days about that), I wasn’t planning on buying anything here. But that plan didn’t last very long – I’m in a store full of Leather and the smell is quite intoxicating.

I’ve been thinking of buying a new waistcoat / vest for a while, something plain and simple. A thumb through the racks and there are plenty of designs and importantly sizes of vests! And the prices are all super reasonable for the quality of the products.

No sooner had I picked one up to try out one of the excellent staff came over to assist and make sure I was ok and could find what I was looking for. And gave advice and feedback on the products – did they look right, was it the right length and size. They wanted to help me find something that fit! And that is how I ended up walking out with a gorgeous 44″ chest new waistcoat (with several larger sizes and styles available) – I couldn’t wait to wear it, and Flaming Saddles was the perfect place to go that evening in it!

For comparison on the sizing issue that most companies don’t address in Regulation and Mister B for example I couldn’t even squeeze into their largest size of waistcoat in the store.

The store has most clothing upstairs, and down a snug spiral staircase, is the large selection of quality toys and bondage kit! And the workshop where much of their amazing products are made and adjusted.

A great store, great service and well worth a visit!

Bar Review: Boltz Birmingham

1st May 2018

I’ll admit it, I don’t go out too much to the kink / fetish scene in the UK. Sometimes if you spend too much time on Twitter and Instagram etc you can get the impression you are only a real kinkster if you go out on the scene loads. Nothing could be further from the truth! The gay fetish scene really doesn’t cater for all tastes, and unfortunately like most niche markets is very focused on London (particularly if you are the UK’s largest gay fetish site).

But there are pockets of kink and “man spaces” around the country. And one of those spaces is the long established Boltz Club in Birmingham – my local if you will. The Birmingham fetish scene consists of six main events / spaces:

For the UK’s second city (I can hear the screeches of dissent from Manchester already) this may not seem a lot, but what we have works well for us and satisfies many perverts needs!

Boltz has had a few name changes over the years, and has moved location before but it has been where it is now for a good few years now – just on the edge of Birmingham’s Gay village. The small doorway entrance leads to a dark world to explore!

There are several key areas to Boltz, the bar area, one large central bar with some stools and limited seating options and then all the other areas pretty much lead off from here. There is the outdoor smokers space, heaters, tables and seats there, the ‘educational’ cinema, the cruise maze, the cottages / toilets, sling room, glory holes and of course The Bullring. This is a different take on traditional cruise spaces, it seven different themed spaces / rooms: orgy, dungeon, slave, worship, bike, sling, web. I’ll let you discover for yourselves the different rooms – but if you have every wanted to be fucked on or over a motorbike with horny guys watching this is the place to go!

Boltz hold many events throughout the year, fetish nights, gear nights, sportswear etc all catered for. But one of their most popular is Dare2Bare on the first Sunday of the month (3pm – 8pm). There is a strict underwear / naked dress-code and the place gets full, hot, sweaty and can be a lot of fun!

Bolts isn’t just a fetish / fuck club. It’s just a great bar to hang out with your mates in. I’ve had some great afternoons, evenings there with mates passing the time buy enjoying the vibe, music and drinks on offer. And one of the best things are the great bar tenders they have! I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to the USA a lot and some of my favourite bars are there (the SF Eagle is one of them). And in most American bars you get great bar tenders, they are their to serve drinks, make amazing cocktails, host you and help ensure you have a great time. As one said recently in Key West “if you can’t trust your Bar Tender who can you trust?”

Boltz has been one of the few bars I have been in where the guys working the bar keep an eye out for who is waiting to order, and more impressively they remember what you drink! They notice you’ve finished drinking and ask if you want the same round again. Makes you feel appreciated and welcome!

So if you are in Birmingham and fancy exploring the darker side of its gay scene, Boltz is a great place to go! Or if you just fancy a pint and chat get along, the best thing about Boltz is that you can gear up if you want, you can fuck if you want, you can suck dick if you want, you can wank watching others do that, enjoy a cigar in the smoke area, or you can just sit and enjoy a drink. I will definitely be making more use of this place in the future.

Review: SM Apartments Berlin

2nd November 2017

I’ve been looking back at an old blog and a few years ago I wrote a post about the SM Apartments, owned by SteelCollar, in Berlin. I thought it was worth sharing a slightly updated version of this post as some of you kinksters may be interested in it.

I’m very lucky in that I have my own permanent dungeon space, but appreciate that most people don’t have that luxury. And so quite often look at hiring somewhere to play, and over the years there have been some amazing play destinations. The Black Tulip in Amsterdam was quite legendary for example!

Around the UK and London there are some dungeons available for the evening or by the hour. But there is something about taking a break away with your boy /slave / maid to an apartment that has everything you need and a fully equipped dungeon & more right there. Oh and one that happens to be round the corner from some very horny bars!

And the SM Apartments are still, in my view, some of the best dungeon spaces you can get!

Berlin is also home to the Hoist Basement apartments – but these don’t appeal as much for me. And there is a very simple reason – the Hoist ones are almost over styled to be hard sex environments. Yeah a good dirty play space is awesome, but I really also like comfort and style to relax in and have my boy clean my leathers and boots in or just sit at my feet as we relax with a good wine. And the SM Apartments offer both the play space, and relaxation and comfort.

This trip we stayed in The Suite, the largest of the three apartments available. This review is based on a visit from 2012, so some of the decor and features and decor have changed since then, but the principles and ideas are the same!
